Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 20, 2026
1. The short version
CreditGlow ("we," "our," or "us") is a free credit education site at creditglow.co (the "Service"). We are built to collect as little as possible. Our calculators and letter generators run entirely in your browser, so what you type into them never reaches us. We use basic analytics to understand which pages help. That is essentially it. The sections below spell it out.
This policy is written for a United States audience and describes a California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) posture. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information collected automatically
- Analytics (Google Analytics 4). Every page loads Google Analytics, which collects standard usage data: the pages you visit, how long you stay, general click activity, your approximate location, your device and browser type, and your IP address. It sets analytics cookies to do this. We use it in aggregate to see which pages are useful.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider (Netlify) keeps standard server logs, which can include your IP address and the request your browser made, for security and reliability. This is normal infrastructure logging.
2.2 Information stored on your device (not sent to us)
- Theme preference. We save your light or dark theme choice in your browser's local storage so the site remembers it. This stays on your device and is never transmitted to us.
- Assessment answers. When you use the assessment, your answers are kept in your browser's session storage so your plan survives if you follow a link and come back. This stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and clears when you close the tab.
2.3 Information we do NOT collect
- Social Security numbers
- Full credit card numbers
- Bank account details
- Credit reports or scores from the credit bureaus
3. Our tools run in your browser
Our calculators and letter generators, including the dispute, goodwill, and debt-validation letter tools, run entirely on your device. Everything you type into them, including any Social Security number, date of birth, or address you enter to build a dispute letter, stays in your browser. That information is never transmitted to CreditGlow and is never received or stored by us. This is why we can say we do not collect Social Security numbers: the tools that ask for one assemble your letter locally, and nothing you enter leaves your browser.
4. How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- To understand which pages and tools are helpful, in aggregate
- To protect against fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity
- To comply with legal obligations
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited information with the service providers that run parts of the site:
- Google Analytics for website analytics
- Netlify for website hosting and infrastructure
We may also disclose information if required by law or valid legal process, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we would provide notice.
5.1 Affiliate links
Some links on our site are affiliate links. If you open an account through one, we may earn a commission. This never affects what you pay or which products we show. Pages that carry affiliate links are marked with a disclosure.
6. Cookies and local storage
The site uses a small, specific set of cookies and browser storage:
- Analytics cookies: set by Google Analytics to measure site usage.
- Theme preference: stored in your browser's local storage to remember your light or dark mode. It is not a tracking cookie and is never sent to us.
- Assessment answers: stored in your browser's session storage so your plan survives if you follow a link. It is never sent to us and clears when the tab closes.
You can control or clear cookies through your browser settings. You can also install Google's official analytics opt-out browser add-on to stop Google Analytics from measuring your visits.
6.1 Do Not Track
Our Service does not currently respond to Do Not Track browser signals.
7. Accounts are not currently offered
CreditGlow does not offer user accounts today. You do not need to sign in to use any of the builder tools, and we do not collect a name or password. If we add optional accounts in the future, creating one would involve processing an email address and password through our authentication provider, Supabase, and we would update this policy before that feature goes live. This section is here so you know the current state: no accounts, no login required.
8. Data retention
- Analytics data: retained by Google Analytics on a rolling basis and used in aggregate.
- Tool inputs: never stored by us, because the tools run in your browser.
9. Your California privacy rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, and share
- Request deletion of personal information we hold about you
- Opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights
To make a request, email creditglow.co@gmail.com or reach us through our Contact page. Because we collect so little, in most cases the fastest way to remove your data is to clear your browser's cookies and local storage.
10. Data security
The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and we minimize what we collect so there is little to expose. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so while we take reasonable measures, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children's privacy
The Service is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
12. Third-party links
The Service links to third-party websites, including card issuers. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version here and update the "Last updated" date above.
